Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as a prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael received her NIDA diploma. At a very young age, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of the stage and visionaries working behind the scenes of film as well as theatre and television. Yael is a renowned actor with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael's move to New York City began when her production was critically acclaimed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Yael is the co-founder the company The Cannery. The Cannery is a Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery promotes new creativity, creative writing and innovative projects, and supports the development of young writers.
